Media Markt Sweden
Roth, June 2009 - Media Markt is turning thirty - and the company is still as astute as ever. There seems no end to the expansion of Europe's Number One electronics retailer.
Mangelberger's trim, lean branch-control technology, tailored to the requirements of specialist retailers, is set to score heavily on energy savings and user-friendliness in the Scandinavian north. In cooperation with Mangelberger, the Media Markt team turned the individual components - main distribution boards, sub distribution boards, branch controls and energy management - into a customised and internationally duplicable system. All operating functions are of course in Swedish.
What Media Markt is expecting to get from the new technology is not only substantial savings on operating costs but also shortened planning processes and reduced planning and installation costs. It took courage and self-belief to open the first Media Markt in Munich in 1979, the company admits as it now looks back on the start-up. The quest for safe and sure success, to be achieved by using reliable, thousandfold tested components so as to save time and expense, is the philosophy on which Mangelberger bases its contribution to this new customer's expansion.
