More and more production buildings are being transformed into high-tech computing centres. Machines communicate via innovative instrumentation, intelligent solutions for power supply and manufacturing automation secure flexibility and process security. During the design of the new manufacturing plant at Pressmetall Gunzenhausen the highest yardsticks for the performance of humans and technology were set.
In the energy distribution area, a constantly available electrical output of 4,000 kVA was implemented. What, however, happens with changes in the planning of the manufacturing? What happens, if a machine with a 200 KW power rating must be additionally installed? In a word: nothing! No new laying of cables, no time delay. Bus bars run under the production lines, to which the machine switchboard and control can be attached in the shortest time. The operation takes place quickly and simply via internally developed Mangelberger power panels. Plug and go in just few minutes. A modular, standardised concept - just as safe as it is simple!
Foresighted design has its eye on all cost saving potential. Example 1: Just with the relocation of the transformer stations Pressmetall Gunzen-hausen avoids future energy loss to the value of 10,000 Euro per year. Example 2: Ventilation systems in modern foundry operations are extremely efficient and thus energy intensive. An effective energy management module saves peak loads of approx. 130kW - with an investment of less than 3.000 Euro!
