Raiffeisenbank Georgensgmünd
Since the end of the last ice-age, the landscape between Swiss-Franconia and the lake district of Franconia is formed by sand. Although it is hundreds of kilometers from the sea, sweeping sand beaches and bright forests of pine, rooted in sand, invite visitors to play, hike and relax in equal measure. Regional specialities like asparagus or horseradish love the finely granulated dry earth.
In the middle of the franconian sand landscape lies the picturesque Georgensgmünd. Not only the cityscape of the famous sisters Bamberg and Nuremberg are determined by sandstone fixtures, impressive evidence of the old sandstone architecture can also be found in the quiet commumities in the district of Roth. For the Raiffeisenbank Georgensgmuend, which has been rooted in the region for many years, and for Thomas Wenzel, the architect from Roth assigned the renovation of the bank building, it was therefore a matter of course to preserve the original character of the architecture even after the modernisation.
