Volksbank Weissenburg
Many companies calculating prices in the offer phase, know the problem: one competitor offers apples, the other oranges, but with the decision often, at the end of the day, only the amount plays a role.
With the new building of the Volksbank headoffice in Weißenburg, our client took a completely different and substantially more meaningful approach. Instead of the cheapest electrical package being awarded the contract, the most sustainable solution should win. All bidders received a fixed budget from the general contractor, which was available for the planning and implementation of the entire electrical, lighting and building control technology, including switchboards, access controls, barrier systems as well as IT networking. After the concept presentation the contract was awarded to Mangelberger.
The calculation with a fixed budget only has advantages for all sides, because inevitably, from the beginning, a target oriented optimisation process takes place during the choice of the installation components. Mangelberger selected innovative, flexible and easy-to-install components. With the most modern EIB/LON technology as a basis, the programming of the technical functions or also planning changes during the construction phase was child's play.
Also during the concept and execution planning Mangelberger broke completely new ground with this project. For the first time at Mangelberger, an Autodesk Streamline system was used, a planning tool, which stores all the detailed technical drawings on a protected internet server, in order to permit multiple authorised personnel to simultaneously access and process them. The specialised planning of individual components for the Volksbank in Weißenburg took place partly in Austria, yet thanks to this modern tool, it was always possible to access up-to-the-minute plans – with the exception of the safety-relevant video and security systems.
Last and by no means least, this innovative function was responsible at the end for punctual and trouble-free delivery of this extensive and interesting project.
