McDonald's Egypt

The first step on the African continent

Names that awake wanderlust – the history of Mangelberger in Egypt began in November 2000 with the implementation of the restaurants in Oraby and Tanta.

Up to this point in time McDonald's had used the switchboards from Schneider in North Africa, one of the largest and most renowned electronics companies in the world. However, Mangelberger was able to completely convince with its concept of the greatest possible technology standardisation. A further, substantial success factor was the perfect adaption of the switchboards to kitchen equipment as well as ventilation and air conditioning systems.

We wouldn’t be Mangelberger if we didn’t take on the initial installation in a new market, in order to guarantee that all local requirements and needs are given consideration. The commissioning of the first switchboards was carried out by our mechanics and thus the integration of the standard technology developed for McDonald's Europe was successful in Africa. Over the years we implemented several subsequent projects e.g. in Cairo, Hurghada, Giza, Luxor or also Sakkara.
