McDonald's Italy

Anything but boring: standardised technology solutions

Before 2002, the switchboards for the McDonald's restaurants in Italy were produced by the manufacturing companies lovingly, but without a system. In part extremely oversized, one couldn’t talk about standardisation or intelligent energy management at all.

In November 2002 McDonald's Central Europe hired Mangelberger to structure and accompany the expansion in Italy in the field of electrical engineering. Already for the first restaurant, " Via delle Primulle" in Ascoli, the entire electrical installation and detail plans were adapted to the European standard - just like the interfaces to the ventilation system, to the lighting and to the kitchen devices.

The advantages of the standardisation already proved themselves to be unbeatable with this first project. During the installation phase there were hardly any inquiries on the part of the specialist Italian companies carrying out the work, it was possible to reduce the cost of the wiring significantly. Thanks to the optimised connections, it was possible to commission the Mangelberger standard electrical distribution with integrated energy management without problems.

Since then we have been accompanying the open and friendly team of McDonald's Italy with the expansion to the most beautiful places across the whole country - to Bozen, Venice, Florence, Milan, Modena, Rome, Triest, Mozzano and of course to Sicily.
