McDonald's Russia

Standard technology from west to east

Russia, whose borders extend from Norway to China, has variations in scenery and culture unmatched by almost any other country on the earth. In one point however, complete agreement prevails: the standard electrical distribution for the Russian McDonald's restaurants.

Mangelberger had been called in 2002 by McDonald's Europe, in order to also introduce the internationally applied technology standards to Russia. First stations for the expansion were naturally the fascinating metropolises Saint Petersburg and Moscow. The standard distribution used today at McDonald's in Saint Petersburg is exactly the same as in Zurich, Munich, Prague, Minsk or Warsaw.

As always in a new country, in Saint Petersburg Mangelberger began with the standardisation of the interfaces to the kitchen, heating, ventilation and air conditioning system. The fast adaption to the Russian regulations and standards secured McDonald's Russia the problem-free import and immediate acceptance of the switchboards by the Russian authorities. A contract, which despite all the required agreements was completed in record time and nevertheless absolutely trouble-free: from the receipt of the order to the completion it took barely 3 weeks!

A standardised energy and utility management system substantially lowers the maximum required power at McDonald's Russia. Through the controlled switching on and off of the kitchen devices and the electrical heating element, the energy costs are clearly reduced. The relevant consumption and power values are available online to both the regional management and the global energy purchasers.
