McDonald's Serbia
Serbia was always an important transit country in South-east Europe. To a large extent, life there is governed by the water, most importantly by the Danube, which has already grown to a powerful river here on its way to the Black Sea. The largest Danube island Ostrvo, with 60 square kilometers, is located in Serbia , as is also the Iron Gate, of one of the most beautiful and most impressive gorges in Europe.
Belgrade is also a water city. The river banks of the two largest rivers, the Danube and the Sava, together total 200 km in the Serbian capital, 16 river islands are located in this region. The “white city”, translated into English, dates back to one of the oldest settlements in Europe and was naturally the first stop for McDonald's with the expansion in Serbia. In July 1991 the first restaurant was opened at Narodnih Heroja 2. Mangelberger accompanied this project and also all subsequent projects, e.g. in Carcak, Jagodina, Nis, Sabac and Subotica with the supply of its standardised McDonald's distribution system.
